I was just wondering why some of Google's updated 'Material Design' apps have an animation where the hamburger menu icon morphs into a back arrow, and some of their apps don't.

I could see if they were all made by various developers, but all the apps are coming from the same house. Also, isn't that animation built into the code libraries for Lollipop? I would think it would easily be made consistent.

Which apps aren't doing it? Are you using the Android 5.0 developer preview, or are you referring to the individual Google apps that have been updated to Material Design so far?

I'm referring to individual apps. The updated Google Drive, and Inbox are two I'm seeing that don't animate the hamburger.

Sadly Apparently if I read Roman Nurik's post right. The way the play store and play music work are in-correct. The correct way the slide out will work is like Play Movies.

This really sucks. I feel like its gone backwards. The animation and how the Playstore handle it defiantly feels better and feels more "L" to me.
