And you never got round to installing it while it was sitting on your device?

You can flash a factory image instead if you wish to try 5.0.1 now.

I heard nexus 5 is not getting 5.0.1 or any other future OS updates. Is this true? How do we fix all the issues with our phones now?
This is not true. The nexus 5 will be getting OS updates for at least another year.

... especially now that the Nexus 4 has just gotten the 5.0.1 update.

Any idea when we can expect the Lollipop update on the Moto G 2nd Gen here in the UK?

    Thanks

Blaming the victim? Google has no business removing my locally downloaded update.

I'd love KitKat back. All Lollipop has brought me is stuttering apps and games, sudden black screens that completely close the app or browser mid-use, and stupid extra steps in mail and even unlocking my Nexus 7. Is it really a new operating system, or a hack from Apple to punish non-iPad users? Unless I'm out of the house, I don't even use my tablet now because I'm tired of it suddenly stopping.

Consider yourself lucky. Maybe they've actually realized that Lollipop makes using a Nexus 7 a bad fever dream.

Assuming it will be similar to the Moto X 2nd Gen, then the answer is: no-one knows and Motorola aren't telling. See our discussion here:

Can someome Nexus 5 owner test is it possible to speak to phone by using headphones without microphone in 5.0.1?
In KitKat this is possible, keeping phone front of your face. 5.0 corrupted my voice so badly that my friends cant hear anything what I said. Every time I was listening Spotify and got phonecall, I need to took headphones away and then answer.

I second that. The UI seems a bit more fluid, no more random stutters on 5.0.1.

It might be a little more fluid, or I could just be imagining things. Petty much the same as 5.0 for me, but I didn't have any of the issues some people were having, so that's not necessarily a bad thing.
