Alarm clock not responding on lockscreen

When my alarm first goes off in the morning it let's me hit snooze no problem.

But the trouble begins when it goes off the second time it won't let me slide the clock icon to the left or right.

Anybody else have this problem or know a solution?

Just tried on a nexus 5 and it works good, which phone do you have?

Ok I tried it again and it's made a liar out of me. So it seems to be random (mostly when I have to wake up early for work, is this a Google feature to make sure you don't over sleep? )

I don't know if this is related but I've noticed when I unlock my phone afterwards it says 'nova launcher is not responding but I don't see how that would correspond with the alarm clock
