Google's BS updater. No update available. Yea right. I am not going to sideload and erase my Nexus 7 for the third time as I never got the 5.0.1 update.

My understanding was that 5.0.2 was N7 (2012) specific, dealing with hardware specific to that device. I could have misunderstood - though my N7 (2012) went from 5 straight to 5.0.2 - so not sure adding it to your 2013 device is A Good Idea. Might want to wait until 5.1 available - rumoured for February.

I think you're mistaken. Many Nexus 7 2013 users (including me) got the 5.0.2 update notification yesterday or the day before. I'm waiting to see what people experience before I install it. KitKat 4.4.4 is working fine for me, so I'm in no hurry.

Noted.
Meanwhile, noting your current OS status, IIABDFI (If It Ain't Broke....). Given the dodgy, half-baked behaviour of 5 (and it's patches) - and Google's irritating rollout process - unless they produce something 'insanely great' with 5.1, I hardly think I'll be doing much in the way of 'upgrading' to it on my N7 (2012). Or, for that matter, considering an Android phone where the OS is pre-installed.

Finally got it last night on my Nexus 7. I checked for updates before 15 minutes so the update checker is useless at best. Updates come when you get the notification only.
