Samsung Galaxy S4 lock screen pin number keys turning into white boxes. Help?

After I updated to Lollipop, after I leave my phone for a while and it locks, the pin number keys turn into white boxes, first a couple of them, then more over time until all of the numbers and letters are white boxes. It's still usable, but i'd like a solution.

Welcome to Android Central! That usually resolves if you reboot. If it keeps coming back, try wiping the cache partition: http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-5744

My S5 is doing the same thing, yes, rebooting is a temporary fix, yes clearing the partition is a temporary fix. Is there a permanent fix?

I work with mobile devices everyday and I have come across this issue. But only 1 of my customers. If you have a chance stop by in one of you`re local Best Buy stores and go to the Samsung counter and tell them that you need to have you`re device reflashed under what is called 'direct mode' these issues occur when you do software updates over wifi. This solution is pretty much like a cleansing on you`re device.

Alex, Is this like a factory reset? we have 4 S4s in the house and it's only happening to one of them.
