If I am listening to my music via bluetooth, it seems to automatically pause the stream around 15 /20 mins into listening. I have to open up the program and hit play and it picks right back up. I have used the default music app and just switched to google play music it is happening with both apps. Very frustration while bike riding and trying to get my music back playing.

There are a number of "sleep timer" apps available ( https://play.google.com/store/search...c&c=apps&hl=en ). Are you sure you haven't installed one and forgotten about it?

Many music players also have a sleep timer built-in. PowerAmp comes to mind.

I know I did not download any sleep timer apps, is this something that may have been activated automatically after the last update? Where would I find them? I do not have a PowerAmp program.

Running Greenify? Any battery management apps that might be shutting down your data connection?
