Why is my S5 very slow, since the Lollipop update?

S5 very slow, lollipop update

Since updating to lollipop last week my S5 has become a shadow of its former self. Constantly slowing down, freezing when too heavy a load is put on it i.e. opening Facebook lol and just being generally unfavourable to own now.
I did look into some ideas ie wipe cache, factory reset etc. and they did little to alleviate the issues, the factory reset worked for a short time i.e. a few days but then its gone back to normal, no new apps have been added between the two firmware's so I'm stumped!
