Gmail syncing not working properly after clearing Google Services Framework

I heard Sprint is finally OTA'ing Lollipop, so I tried the Google Services Framework to force the update. I am now having issues where I am not getting proper gmail notifications for when I get mail. (Normally I have it go off for every incoming email). How do I fix this? Thanks!

Welcome to Android Central! Google engineers themselves have cautioned people against clearing the Google Services Framework: PSA: Do not clear data for Google Service Framework : Android.

Try going to Settings>Accounts, remove your Google account completely, then add it back again.
