Why isn't my Google photo working after update?

Google photos not working after update

Hi all,

I recently updated my photos app in lollipop. After the update the app keeps crashing (PS. avoiding the **** editing updates, as compared to the previous one which was really cool) and whenever it opens, after editing it gives the error of cannot save changes. Did all the tips like force close, google plus uninstall/install, clear cache-data but to no avail. Can somebody help since I was a real big fan of photos earlier :/

Have you tired uninstalling the photos app and then reinstalling it. I think that it is a standalone app now.
