    Try this instead: https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager

Login with your Google gmail account and password then give the page a few moments to locate your phone. Click the Lock icon and follow the instructions: "Your current lock screen will be replaced with a password lock" which you choose.

Of course, you must have access to the internet through another device and your phone must have a live Internet connection.

Welcome to the forums. Have you tried taking the device to your carrier? They may have a way to bypass the lockscreen.

Unfortunately, it seems that a factory reset is the only option for a forgotten pin/pattern under Lollipop 5.1x. I have to say, I think that really sucks.

To add insult to injury, you phone may be locked out for three days after a factory reset if you "recently reset your Google account password."

See the Nexus 6 section here: https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/4596836

Sorry; for some reason I thought yours was a Nexus 6.

Here are the instructions for Android One: https://support.google.com/android-o.../6088915?hl=en

FYI I have Nexus 6 and there was no way to unlock my phone as I forgot my pattern and tried unsuccessfully. I did look and see my photos were all backed up to google photos on my computer so I went for it. It didn't give me the option to enter my google account to recover so I thought I have let it do the factory reset and that is what I did. However, when I did log back on after reset it gave me the prompt to do my google account sign in and let me recover my information from last use or another device. So I was pleased with that.

    Tried this?

Search for this on how to geek how-to-fix-pin-errors-after-restoring-from-twrp-android-backups

Worked for me, just sets the security back to swipe.

Hello! This happened to me once, and I took my phone to servis. Honestly, I wouldn't want to lose some of my data, and I would recommend that to you too!

It is mostly seen that when you type incorrect password for few times, you device will give you message "Try Again in 30 Seconds”.

Your android device will also give you an option for Forgot Password/ Pattern.

So just tap on this option, when you tap on this option your device will give you two options: Unlock with security question OR Unlock with Google account.

Now just try to you remember the security question and its answer, if you don’t know , just tap on Google account option.

Now you need to log in with Google account details. A few seconds you are connected with your Google account.
and a new option will appear on your window from where you can select a new pattern or type in a new password.

After doing this your android device will be unlocked.

    Hope this process helps you.

    Thanks & Regards
