I lost my Galaxy 5.1 phone and had no retrieval apps. How can I get the phones location?

I lost my galaxy 5.1 phone and had no retrival apps.

I bought a Samsung tablet 3-4 months later and saw my lost android and location on device manager.
Can I get the phones location?

Are you saying that you have the Android Device Manager app on the tablet, and that you activated it?

Even if you don't have ADM on the tablet, does it have mobile data switched on, and is it set to allow ADM to locate it?
