Hi. I recently changed providers (from Straight Talk to MetroPCS) and had to get a new phone. Performance with the Leon is fine and all....but coming from my Samsung Epic 4G and Android 2.2, I find there are far fewer features. There isn't even a dedicated swype section. Also in that vein, I use a lot of personal vernacular, and the swype takes about five typings of a word for it to take.

Does each brand/model still have a slightly different version of Android? If so, are all these things peculiar to the variant of Lollipop the LG uses? And if so, is there a 'generic' version I can use instead (that will be compatible with my carrier)?
