Why is my battery terrible after the Lollipop update?

Ever since I updated my samsung galaxy tab s 8.4 to lollipop 5.0.2, i've been having issues with the battery. At first, when i'm using it while charging, the battery decreases instead of increasing. Now, even if i let it charge overnight, i only get like 10 to 12%.

It also shuts down on its own even if i still have a few percent left. I can barely use my tablet now. Please help.

Welcome to AC.

A Cache Partition wipe is good practice after a system software update. However, the update and the battery trouble may be no more than coincidental. Try a different USB lead. Also, make sure the USB port is clean and undamaged.

I already did a factory reset like 5 times. The first reset worked. But then after 2weeks the problem started again. That's when i did a reset again. And i've tried multiple USB cables but am still having the same issue. Everything was working fine when i had the kitkat OS.. after the update my tablet became useless
