I have read the thread" How do I move a file to a pc with Lollipop?". It deals mainly with using Wi-Fi to move files, and the recommended apps seem much more extensive (and complicated) that I want. My phone, a LG Sunset (Model L33L), uses Android 5.0.1 as the OS. It has a rudimentary file moving system using Windows Explorer. As a new Android user, many of the file names and types listed mean absolutely nothing to me.

I am looking for a somewhat more user friendly file mover app. One that gives me features such as the following:
    1. a better description of what the files are, and what app they belong with, if appropriate.
    2. Can move my apps from my internal memory (less than 4 GB useable on my phone) to my 32GB microSD card, either singularly or as a batch.
    3. Can move files directly from my PC to my microSD card, again either singularly or as a batch.

There are so many options on Google Play that I don't even know where to begin.

Does anyone have favorites that might meet my needs?

I use ES File Explorer to manage my files from internal/external storage, I prefer it because it prompts you to give permission to manage your SD card (since as of 4.4, SD cards are read only without root). I'm not sure about data association with files, in my experience I use my SD card for all media (photos, videos, music, screenshots, etc) and use my internal primarily for apps I'm unable to move.

As for moving an app to the SD card, the best way I've found (as much as a pain it is) is to just go through your apps manually and see what ones you can move. I tried an app mover before but still had to manually move it, all it did was tell me what apps were able to be moved.

I installed EX File Explorer. I'll leave it on my phone for a while, but I think that is going to be too complicated to use for my feeble old brain.
    Thanks for the suggestion.

I ignore 90% of the icons in the navigation section of the browsing window--I've found long press and a menu handles nearly all of my needs. It was the first one I found that allowed me to manage files on my sd card rather than telling me it didn't have permission, with no options.
