I don't know what's going on. My phone has been acting weird for the past week and this bar comes and goes. I'm hoping someone knows what it is before I try a factory reset which may or may not fix the problem. I know it is only an issue on the home screen because when I open an app or even the app drawer, it's gone. Help!

Hello, welcome to the forums! Which phone do you have? Are you using a custom launcher or just the stock one? Did you place those icons on your homescreen? It looks like some kind of recommended apps box, most likely from a third party app that you downloaded. Do you have Clean Master or a similar app installed in your phone? What happens if you long press on that box?

Also, check your Settings>Accessibility menu and see if any of those features are turned on.

I have a Droid Turbo 2 and stock launcher. The box is across the background on all my home screens. I don't have the cleaner app and I did put my icons there. When I move the icons the box stays put. I cannot select the box.

Your last screenshot with the screens overview shows something strange. The box seems to be included in your wallpaper. Are you using a live wallpaper or any third party app to set your background? You could try changing the wallpaper for a stock one that came with the phone and see if the problem persists.

You could try clearing cached data in settings - storage and wiping the cache partition on recovery. Have you used before a widget on that same position the box is now? Maybe the Droid command center?

Welcome to Android Central! You're responding to a 7 year old thread, and I think your issue is completely different from the OP's. Are you talking about the "toast" message at the bottom of the screen? If so, then go to your system settings and search for "Time to take action", which is in the Accessibility menu. Make sure that's set to Default, and not to some longer interval.
