Google play services not compatible with device

I have had to reset my hudl 2 by pressing and holding down the volume and power key as device would not power up fully. Reset worked great but now keep getting message saying Google play services needs updating. When I select to do this it says device not compatible with this version. I don't know which version I need. Can someone please help. Thanks
