What's been using it? Mine has improved dramatically and it has seemingly got better every day since I installed it.
Left work today with 80%, my mate with a 6 on lollipop had 53%. Same usage times too.

Android OS. This is a clean install. Minimal apps installed. No Facebook at all

I'm seeing completely similar battery results with the side loaded OTA. Also most of the apps that should be draining don't show up in the battery settings window.

All I know is that after sideloading 6.0 I now hate the words "root", "rooting" "unlock bootloader", "mac", "apple".
That's because you are doing it wrong. With sideloading OTA update, you don't have to erase anything. I did it around 10 times on various Nexus devices (4,5,10) and never erased anything. You only need to erase if you're installing factory image, but that is not "sideloading OTA".

Battery life is so, so...I barely make it through the day. I do have Google Now On Tap turned on. Even though I don't find it useful. Might turn it off and see if that helps. I do get at least one or two random reboots a day. Also I can't get the phone to stay silent. It will automatically turn the volume up and start beeping when notifications arrive. I am not a fan of how the DND is implemented. Even though I go in and physically turn off all sounds, the phone decides after a few hours to turn on sound/notifications, quite annoying.

Well if the instructions online were better and actually had proper Windows instructions then I would not have had so many issues.

I said earlier that my smart lock was working. I was wrong. It doesn't work for me either. I have it set to not require the code while I'm home. I have tried it with location setting for battery saver as well as this device which uses GPS. Neither work. This is a real inconvenience.

That's weird. Smart lock works for me - at least Trusted places and On-body detection.
