After I updated my Nexus 7 to Android 6.0.1, my lock screen was disabled. Did anybody else have this issue? I encrypted my Nexus for good reason and this seems like a giant security issue.

Welcome back! Disabled in what way? Are you able to set it back up again? Or is it no longer asking you to enter your encryption PIN/password when you turn on the device?

After the update and my nexus rebooted, my screen lock wasn't active. I was just able to swipe to unlock my device after the installation. I had to turn the screen lock back on in the settings.

I can't remember if the Nexus 7 does this in Marshmallow, but on the 6P, there's an option to require the user to enter the screen unlock PIN/password/pattern at the beginning of the boot process in order to start Android. If you enter the screen unlock there, then you won't have to after the boot process is finished. Could that be what happened? Or was it still not requiring a screen unlock after the device went back to sleep?

I don't remember entering my PIN at any point in the boot process. But then again, I was juggling a newborn as it was updating lol

After I rechecked that box in the settings, my nexus does require a PIN for coming out of sleep and reboot.

Thanks for the help!
