So there is something funky with the auto brightness after marshmallow update. It used to work perfectly. Now it doesn't react all the time almost like it gets stuck. it goes way too dim in low light and doesn't go to its max brightness in sunlight. Turning it off it then goes brighter wtf. It worked perfectly in lollipop.

Also another weird thing it will do is it will get into a mode where it will dim / brighten almost like flicker in sunlight if the phone is tilted slightly away from the sun then towards it.

I've tried fresh install, wipe, factory reset, cache partition clear. I've tried all the usual suspects. It's not an isolated problem as I've read numerous things about it but nothing with an answer.

Samsung S6 edge.

Which device are we talking about?

Frankly, I have *always* had trouble with auto-brightness, across several phones and OS versions, so it is no surprise to me that my current Nexus 6P on 6.0.1 does some weird things in that regard.
