Bluetooth auto play keeps reverting to stock app

Since finally getting the 6.0.1 update on my AT&T Note 4 the Bluetooth auto play has lost the ability to resume the previous audio source such as Pandora or a podcast. It has been driving me nuts as every time I get in the car the Samsung theme song to play. It even happens if the BT connection momentarily drops out.

I managed to delete the theme song but that only saves me from having to hear it.

I tried contacting Samsung support but they just blame my car.

I tried support again and they said to just set the default app in settings. But over many years and several phones I have never needed to specify which app should play be default. They would all just start up whatever audio source was paused.

Experiencing this same problem! Did you ever get yours resolved?

Sorry for the late reply. My issue seems to have gone away. I deleted the Samsung song off the phone and since that time the last app seems to resume most of the time.
