Recover contents on adoptable storage SD-card

My phone went unintentionally into factory defaults reset. I was able to remove SD-card with very recent photos (not yet backed-up).

After reset was completed, the phone no longer recognizes the card and requires reformat before new use.

I have researched adoptable storage to learn it is based on 128 bit encryption of data-partition, with key stored on the phone. So reset of phone implies loss of key implies a mess. Research is confirmed by inspection of SD-card in Linux. There is a large partition with unreadable filesystem

My phone is MotoG 3d-gen running Android 6.01.

Does anybody have tip how to recover?

Welcome to Android Central! Unfortunately, I think you're out of luck. Since the card is encrypted and the key has been lost, you won't be able to recover that data. This is one of the major pitfalls of using SD cards as Internal Storage. Sorry!
