Set Skype as default messaging client in Android Marshmallow

Is there anyway that Skype can be set as the default messaging client for Android, specifically marshmallow. Need to be able to get text's on two phones, a L950XL and an LG-V10.

I don't think so. I tested this on my Pixel, and there isn't an option to set it as primary in the Skype app itself, and in Settings>apps>configure (gear icon at the top) under SMS options Skype doesn't show up there either.
