Notifications during call

Is there any way to have the phone automatically turn off notifications (or at least vibrations) just while in a call? The vibrations when a text come in are quite loud in my ear and I don't remember that being so obnoxious on my previous phones. I have looked everywhere and I could find anything in settings. Nexus 6 running developer preview 5.

I can't get my notifications to come through while I am on a call. Ha. How are you doing that? I can't believe I missed this option but it is obvious that I have. It is one of my smallest gripes about stock android. I would love to get notifications sounds or vibrations while on a call.

I get a vibrate alert whenever I'm on a phone call for emails, text messages, etc. The phone should be doing it automatically.
