For people using nexus devices and who do not want to wait for Nougat OTA update fo pop up into their devices can do this trick. You have to goto url android.com/beta and login with the google account which you are using in your nexus device. After login, you need to enroll for a nougat beta programme. In few seconds OTA update notification will pop up into your device. Install the OTA and unenroll.
Remember, do not unenroll while the update is being downloaded as it will stop the download.

I'm downloading mine now on the 5X. It's 1171.5 MB and it's been downloading for about a half hour now. I'm hoping it's just slow cause everyone is downloading it. I always seem to have issues doing things like this with my phone. It won't be done until it's too late and I can't play with it.

EDIT: It just finished downloading and is now installing. Looks like i'll have some time to play after all.

I think my download was far less than 100mb. I suppose that's because a lot of it came down with the beta 4 and beta 5.

It didn't exactly work for me on my Nexus 6. I got the update right away but it was the dev preview 5 vs today's release. No big deal as I'm still thoroughly enjoying nougat for the first time...

So does signing up now get me the final release?

In other words is my mobile banking app gonna work? (Barclays) It didn't with an earlier version of the developer preview so I had to flash back :/

Mohofilter9, this is a stable final build and every app shall work. However if it doesnt, the bank has to update their app to make it work with latest android 7.0.

You need to first enroll for the beta programme and after install is done its upto you to unenroll or not, there wont be any consequences. And ya it WONT wipe out your phone at all.
