why is my photo app using data on my new Moto z

Help!!! I'm not very good with technology... but my new phone has been using up a lot of data lately, through the recently deleted app and through my photo app as well. I can't seem to figure out where all my data is going somebody please help me figure this out!!!! thank you

What app are you using? Is is set to automatically back up to the cloud? You may have a setting to make it wait until you are on WiFi to backup.

If you look under Settings/Data Usage/Cellular data usage it should report which apps are consuming data.
