I have recently updated my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge to Nougat, however, i cannot find the encrypt mobile option anymore. Earlier we could encrypt our device following the following:

Launch the Settings Application
Tap on the ‘Lock Screen and Security’ Option
Scroll Down and Tap on the ‘Other Security Settings’ Option
Then Tap on the ‘Encrypt Device’ Option in the List.

I would appreciate if you can help me with this!!! :)

In Android 7.0, system encryption has changed a little bit. If you want the nitty-gritty details, read this link: https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/160016/what-is-direct-boot-or-file-encryption-in-android-n

Otherwise, here is how to enable the same functionality on the Samsung Galaxy S6 (and S7) after upgrading to Android 7.0:

Settings > Lock Screen and Security > Secure Startup
Enable "Require pattern when device turns on", and hit "OK" at the bottom of the screen.

Now, when you reboot your device, you will notice it will require the pattern and show screen animations that show it is being decrypted.
