Is it possible to turn off message collapse on large text messages?

With the new 7.0 update, my messages app now collapses any text messages that are larger than standard length. Great and all for previewing, but very irritating for someone like me who likes to be able to see the entire previous message without opening/closing that text over and over again. Is there any way to reverse this? Settings within the messages app? Or do I need to just install a new app for texting?

Based on all the complaints, the two current options are (1) wait for a hopeful update, or (2) install a different SMS app.
