Trying to connect my Galaxy j7 to me new car. Will not connect. USB option is show as charge only, but will not allow me to change this option.

Other Android work fine with my cable. Phone is able to transfer data to a pc and the bluetooth pairing completed with out issue.

Any ideas??

If you are connecting a USB to your car, the vehicle needs android auto or the mfr system to see it. Did you buy that option?

Set USB to file sharing (MTP) in the phone. The only things you'll be able to do is play mp3s that are in the root folder showing when you connect to the phone via USB. The USB connector in a car radio is made for mp3 players, not cellphones.

But since the radio connects to the phone with Bluetooth, why do you need a USB connection? It's one or the other, not both.

Because the first time you connect android auto, you need to connect via USB.

Has nothing to do with bluetooth or mp3.
