Why cant I connect than 3 devices to my android wifi hotspot when wifi sharing is on?

I wanted to use wifi sharing at home without needing mobile data but when I do use Wi-Fi sharing to connect my devices I only get to connect 3 devices to my hotspot why is that?

What device do you have? What carrier? This may be either a device or carrier issue, and there may not be much you can do about that in either case.

Hmm, I'm not finding any specific info on that device or carrier as it relates to maximum number of connections, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case..

Try calling Tracfone support and see if they can tell you if it's a specific Tracfone limitation.

Tracfone and Straight Talk are the same company. Call either of them and ask if they limit the phone's hotspot to 3 connections at a time. If that's the case, then you're stuck with it, unless you move to a different carrier that isn't so restrictive. There's a reason why these MVNOs are generally cheaper than the bigger carriers -- they tend to skimp on a lot of the details.
