So, I have this Nokia phone that had this
    popup (Click here)

Is it necessary for me to do this or can I let it just slide. I am not interested in updating the system software (too many reasons for me to type it here; primary being no space to install).

Please guide me if I can somehow disable this, or if this is just a "recommendation".

    Thank you in advance

Welcome to Android Central! That looks official. What shows up when you tap the Learn More link?

System updates typically have important security patches, so it's advisable to update when available, unless there are any reports of major glitches with the update. Judging by the size of the update, it also includes an upgrade to the Android version as well, which would have many feature updates.

Most phones will ultimately force you to do the update. The only way to stop the reminders is typically to root the phone, which I wouldn't recommend if you're not experienced.
