I had the same issue on a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Android 4.1.2 :
- Ad screens pop up randomly on my tablet
- Google play store opens to game pages
- some apps ge tdownloaded ans installed without my permission
In the apps (tab "all") I have items such as pornclub, goolePlay (without a second g), google pay upate (without a d). No music paradise pro or similar music apps installed though
All this happens the week after my 9 year old boy used my tablet to play online...whatever
SOLUTIONS :
Tried the following antivirus without success : CM, Dr Web, 360
No way to uninstall the apps mentioned above, I desactivated them but the problems still occured so they were symptoms but not the cause
Factory reset several times also unsuccessful : after factory reset when I start my tablet I have a screen saying that the OS is updating, it seems that the problems begin after the update, so I suspect the virus is disguised as an android update app, but I was not able to locate it. Also after restarting it appears that the option to show the passwords is ticked in the settings.
I finally did a flash ROM using Odin 3.09 and installed an android 4.4.2 firmware, it seems my tablet is finally clean (and much faster !), to me it was the only way to get rid of the virus. It is probably more than just an adware given the difficulty to find and remove it, and the show password option that is ticked in the settings
