I submitted my app, Georeader, to this contest this year and was very happy to get this in the mail....

Dear Dave,

Your GNSS applications idea made the USA Challenge "Final Five"!

Our panel of expert judges has selected Georeader as a finalist in the North American regional contest of the 2011 European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC).

We invite you to present your idea at a USA Challenge awards ceremony at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 22 at the Portland, Oregon Convention Center during the Institute of Navigation GNSS 2011 conference.

It will be very neat to participate. I am pretty psyched.

thats amazing - is there any prize involved as well?
either way - congrats :)

Yes, I get a free ticket and airfare to the conference, an little "Oscar" statute, and have to give a presentation at the awards ceremony. You also get to be in the booth to meet people in the industry. ( I have been this excited since I won 3rd place in the Science Fair.).

The winner of this gets $1000 and a trip to Germany to compete in the Global Challenge. There the award is like $30K and they help with start-up. I am sure there are other good ideas to compete against so no matter what happens from this point on I am pretty happy.
