Mobile application development training

I wish to be a mobile application developer as I have keen interest on mobile applications development. I do have basic programming skills in C# and Java but just a beginner. I did inquire about some certified course in mobile application development from institutions like Cestar College Toronto. What are the prospects of studying this course? Will I get to work and gain experience in some applications development company after going through a certified course? Can anyone help me out sharing the guidelines of applications development that is approved by mobile companies? Thanks.
