Coming from Windows Mobile a year ago and now on a Pixel 5, and I'm very happy with it BTW. The camera app on Windows Mobile gave me full control of my pictures. ISO, contrast, white balance, shutter speed and more. Id like those same controls in Android. They just might be in Android and I don't know where they are, or how to turn them on. I've looked in the Play store, the shear volume of apps makes it difficult to find what I'm looking for. Does any one have a suggested app? Thanks in advance!

Look at the top of the picture. These are the kind of controls I'm looking for.

It would seem really odd that Google Camera does not not a "manual" mode for the camera and videos.
It will not be the default mode, and it probably will not be the remembered mode.

Google added manual controls to Android back in 2015 or earlier, Samsung and others took advantage, for some odd reason Google has never implemented them into their own camera app. Lol

Some third party camera apps are capable but I haven't used any in years to be able to make a solid recommendation.

It seems weird there really isn't much in the way of manual control. On my P5 I only really have two manual controls over exposure. On the other hand I found a really good way around it using post processing.

If I save the image as jpeg and RAW, I now have all I need to fix something in post. And Google had just the app I was looking for. The Snapseed app will edit the RAW file, it's Photoshop for your Pixel! It doesn't give me the in camera manual control I'd like, but it's a work around for now. The file browser Snapseed uses is also better than Google Photos by a country mile.

I haven't tried it, but I've heard good things about Manual Camera.

Thanks B! This one looks real promising. I'm still in the evaluation mode on four different app. I'l post my fianl got to once I find one. Snapseed has given me some creativity with post processing. I still want more manual camera control thou.

i miss the 'manual camera' built into my previous LG phones. i've been using footej on my new pixel 6 when i want manual control. but the built in camera app is pretty great. lightroom is also an excellent app for editing and shooting.
