I'm looking to rid Facebook as it is a well known resource hog and battery killer. I tried just getting on through tbe web browser on my phone, but that experience is pretty inconsistent. Ans especially trying upload photos via the browser is a pain-- any time I try to upload more than 2 or 3 photos via the browser, it will give me a couple thumbnails that are blank images and then when I post, it doesn't post anything at all.

Metal for Facebook used to be a good FB alternative, but its just basically the web version of FB and has the same issues as using FB via web browser-- IE not uploading photos.

I don't even need anything with the full "bells and whistles" the FB app has. Just something that can post atarus updates, access my groups and profiles, and upload photos without issues.

Have you tried Facebook Lite? Another couple good alternatives are Phoenix for Facebook or Faster for FB Lite.
