I know there are various flight tracking apps, but is there anything like Google Sky for commercial aircraft?

I live under the flight path from LA to San Diego and would like to just point my phone to the sky and know what is flying over. Actually, I might even like it better if I could just get a simple list of what is flying over and where they are, relatively.

I'm not sure how complicated this would be. Flight info is available and it would know my GPS location, so the math seems fairly easy. But putting it altogether in an app may not work.

That's a good question. I'm interested as well.

Since it works for ships, there's no reason it shouldn't work for planes. Maybe a dropdown or some other means for "how far away from me". You don't want planes still in the air over SeaTac (or maybe you do).

    Try these:

    For planes,try the pro version ($2.50) of Flightrader24: https://market.android.com/details?i...dar24pro&hl=en

For satellites, try Satellite AR (FREE): https://market.android.com/details?i...gmentedreality

I included the satellites one because of your other post in another thread that expressed interest in it. I have not used either of these apps, so can not vouch for them, but the reviews seem to be good.

Thanks! They both seem like excellent apps. Satellite AR is exactly what I was talking about, now to see if it works.

    Thanks again.
