I think one of the best features iOS offers is their Find My Phone service. I really hope that Google implements something like this in the core OS for the next version of Android (Jelly Bean?).

I know some of the anti-virus makers have this built-in. Does anyone have it as a separate app? That's the only feature I'm interested in.

How do you track your devices?

I get that the app is free but what does it cost to use it?
Do these tracking apps require a paid service? For SeekDroid it says:

Control the following from our secure website:

- Control Multiple devices under one account (*)
- Locate your device
- Remotely Enable GPS
- Display its location on a map with history! (*)
- Track the device using breadcrumbs (*)
- Get notified if the device has left a fenced
in area (*)
-........
You can do everything else from our secure website at seekdroid.com

(*)'d Features require monthly subscription. See seekdroid.com for more information.

Are there any trackers that do not require any service to be provided?

e.g. you cannot find phone, you call your phone and tell it to run a script, the script gets the current GPS coords and emails it to you, you enter the coords into a map and TADA! you now have a clue where your phone is.

edit...
It looks like Cerberus has a one time fee. That is cool.

Found another alternative: Tasker. Among dozens of other functions>>>> It can automatically send GPS coordinates when battery gets low.
