I'm contemplating the purchase of the new Atrix HD and the two sticking points are the camera and smaller battery which is sealed inside.

As an Android noob, I'm wondering if installing a camera app might improve the quality of the photos, or if you just have to live with the fact the sensor isn't up to snuff. If there is a camera app you recommend that might help, please let me know.

In the end, I generally don't buy a phone for the camera since ANY of them cannot approach that of most point and shoots or DSLR's. The Atrix is a nice, well priced, fast device and the minimal skin over ICS is also well done. I also like how the phone feels and the screen is on par with the HOX or Sony. Thanks much.

Generally, you're stuck with the camera you buy. You can always edit the pictures you take to make them look better. Try PicSay Pro or Photoshop for hardcore editing or Instagram for super simple filters.
