Google Wallet account on hold?

Since Saturday I've been having issues purchasing stuff on Google Play. I'm able to use the same card to buy stuff elsewhere, so that's not the issue, and my credit card company said they haven't blocked anything. I finally called Google Play Support and they said something about errors in my Wallet account and they'd send me instructions on how to fix it. All they sent me was a few links to access my wallet account, but all the info in it - address, credit card number, etc., are correct and haven't changed since I set things up over a year ago.

The ONLY thing I can think of is that I finally rooted my phone around the same time this happened and so my device id changed. Would that have caused this? I got a message from Titanium backup about this this morning and opted to change my id back to the old one, but I don't think that "unlocks" my wallet account, and I have no idea what will at this point. I'll responded to the email I got from Play Support, but who knows if I'll get a response, so may need to call them back, but just wondering if anyone else has run into similar issues and how they got it resolved?

Thanks!

I have been getting the same error. I spoke with Google several times and I got multiple answers. One guy confided that the fraud detection system was locking people out if their activity seemed unusual. I usually never buy apps, but with the specials I've been going a bit nuts. You would think that someone at Google would've anticipated this before the sale. I had a gift Visa card that is no longer usable since apparently the holds on the canceled payments didn't get reversed. I was told that can take up to 7 days to reverse by Google. I'm not happy about it, but there isn't much I can do. My wife is also getting the errors on her account that uses my cards.

hi guys, I registered just now only for the same reason like you guys are facing. I cant buy any app from the Google Play. What shoudl I do? I've contacted Google via email as I couldnt opt to choose the option of them calling me as my country isnt listed in the Google Help. This is so frustrating. I am a regular app purchasers and since that $0.25 promo, Ive noticed quite a lot of apps that I want are on discount, eg: Thumb Keyboard. But this issue has prevented me from buying any app on Google Play! Both on my devices, Nexus 7 and Samsung GSIII I got the same error of "Your payment could not be processed at this time. You may receive an email asking you to verify your account" in which I never received ANY email from them asking me to verify anything! Urghh, why has this suddenly happened? Before this, it had been really ok, no issues at all. Now when i viewed my transactions history, reasons Google gave to me for the cancellation is "We have cancelled your order because your account is on hold." What's that supposed to mean? Why did they put my account on hold in a sudden? :(

Same thing happening to me. Called Google and they said it is on hold for a review. He didn't really give a reason but seemed to indicate it was triggered automatically. I have a feeling it was due to me purchasing 17 apps during the Google sale. The 18th would have been today. I maybe buy one app a week when there isn't a killer sale going on. I mean 17 apps seems seems like a lot but the fact is I spent a whole $4.25 on all of that. They should realize some people are going to just purchase a large number of these apps. For $.25 I can afford for a few of them to be duds just to try them out...

Anyway, he said not to make my next purchase for 24 hours. He says on his end my account is active and sees no hold. He said give it 24 hours for both ends to sync back up so that my end doesn't show it as being on hold. He sent me an email that I am supposed to respond to and if the purchase doesn't work in 24 hours he will escalate it up to someone (I can't remember the exact label he gave... account specialist maybe). We'll see I guess as the email I am supposed to respond to is from a generic wallet support email address rather than a specific email address tied to him.

They told me to wait as well... which I did without a change in the problem. I called them again and they said it was escalated but they couldn't give me any indication of when it would be fixed. This is really starting to get irritating, especially since my credit cards have all been saddled with about $40 in charges.

hi guys, mind asking them how about their customers outside US? How do I contact them about this? any email or anything? it has been more than 24 hours since my last try. just now I tried to purchase again, it failed. This is so annoying. They should have told us how many apps we are allowed to purchase in a day or week before putting us on hold like this. This is annoying, especially when it comes to us who are outside the official supported countries by Google Play. How do I contact them? Please, I really need my account to be put back as before, not on hold like this. I am the one who have all the rights to decide how many apps I wanna buy, not them!! They don't have the rights to control on how I spend my money! F**k them!

In the Google wallet website there is a contact us button that i used. I had to enter my phone number then they called me. There isn't a number listed.

I've had same issue since last night...clicked the link for a specialist to call me and I got all the same as the users before me in this thread. Specialist told me to wait 24 hours to see if it corrects itself and if not to reply back to her email or call back. One additional issue I noticed but didn't mention was there were some purchases I made and had refunded within the required 15 minutes. App was refunded and then a message saying "Error downloading 'blah blah name of app'" and then it immediately redownloaded now making it impossible to be refunded when I uninstalled the app again. I've lost a fair amount of money as I download apps alot and compare within the 15 minute allowance. They are having some serious issues and for the time being I am going to remove all my card info from google wallet to be on the safe side. Incidentally my son is having same issues and my card info is what's in his Google wallet.

UPDATE! I don't know if this will help all of us but I added a PIN for my account and checked to use PIN for purchases in the Play Store settings and the app I WAS ABLE TO FINALLY DOWNLOAD! Maybe for current PIN users, change the PIN and see if that works and corrects the issue.

Ok, mine is apparently sorted now. I couldn't wait 24 hours to try again so I tried this morning and it failed. I responded to the email I received from them and tried buying it again about 3 hours later and it works. I never got a response or any indication that the account was fixed. I didn't have to enter a pin like the previous poster as I have been trying to use my credit card.

You might want to check your account again. I was able to buy one app and then the problem started again. I'm getting ready to tell Google they can take this GNex back.

hurm, I never set up any pin before because Im the only one who uses my devices so Im not worried that anyone might purchase something without my consent. Any more updates guys? I did add up a new valid cc few hours ago and I was charged USD1 which means it's usable but when i tried to purchase an app, it failed. Now I feel kinda scared to purchase anything. It's pretty funny to think that they have this 'locking' system for users who buy lots of apps at a time. Piracy has been an issue in Android but going on a legal path, this is what awaits us. It's mind-bogglin, Google are toying with me, can i just sue them for this? :'(

I'm attempting to port a number into Google Voice, and Google Wallet won't process the $20 porting transaction. I'm seeing the same errors as the rest of you. Strangely, this is on a completely new Google Wallet account, using a credit card I've never used with Google before, and there's plenty of space available under my credit limit. Is Google Wallet experiencing a system-wide problem?

I'm having the same issue, was fine until recently.

When I try and buy something on Google Play I get an error message telling me to check my Google Wallet.

When I check Google Wallet it says my order was cancelled due to my account being on hold.

All my payment details are upto date and have enough funds, so I have no idea what is going on, but it's very frustrating.

Called Google Play and they said they would pass my account to an 'account specialist', who would get back to me within 24-48hrs. So I'm just waiting for them to get in touch now.

Ok, I didn't receive an email from Google, explaining what was up. But it's working fine again now.

I don't know if the issue fixed itself, or if it was done from Google's end.

If anyone is still having problems I'd suggest ringing Google Play support or tweeting Google Wallet.

I was able to buy three apps on Thursday but now the error is back. I never have received a call back. Google service stinks on this...there are no answers.
