What happens if you try it somewhere you have cell service? A lot of Play Store stuff needs to authenticate over cellular and not Wifi.

What do you mean? I wasn't on wifi. I do have call service. I switched to 3g where I have more "bars" But it still won't let me use my play store balance. :/

That's what i meant. Was typing at red lights lol. More bars to make it think you had a more consistent signal.

Mines was doing the same thing before then disappeared. Maybe it has an expiration date?

Did you try buying a different app? I had this happen to me once. An app wouldn't allow me to purchase it via my Play balance but then when I tried a different app, it worked.

I have no idea why it did that.

I think it's because my phone is rooted

Try voodoo's ota root keeper. I bet if you do a temp unroot it will let I work. It let's me download the play movies that it wouldn't allow while rooted.
