Is there any option in the mobile version of Chrome that allows you to cache the most recently loaded versions of webpages?

Right now, whenever I switch from Chrome to another app (without closing the open Chrome tabs) and then go back to Chrome, the browser generally tries to refresh the page in any given tab before I can view it. If I don't have a network connection, that means I don't get to see the page at all.

Can I change the settings so that Chrome caches the pages I already have open and doesn't automatically try to refresh them?

    Can anyone help?

Even, if the answer is, "No, the current version of Chrome doesn't allow this", it would be great to at least know something in relation to my question.

    Thanks and regards
