Does Go Launcher drain more battery and slow down phone?

I installed GoLauncher the other day (and I love it!), but my battery has absolutely tanked. It's the only change I can think of that could be causing it. I've coincidentally at the same time started to get 'android.process.acore is hogging data' notifications. I used to run all day and only use maybe 30% throughout the day and now I'm now using more than 70% by dinner time. I"m still troubleshooting but that's the app I'm looking at.

I'll be curious to hear feedback from others.

Think I may have found the culprit.

I installed Wakelock Detector and it instantly showed that android mediascannerservice was the culprut which led me to the sd card. It appears my sd card may have been corrupted or an individual media file - took my sd card out, reformatted and it appears to be resolved. We'll see what happens over the next day or two...
