Use camera shutter release into Android phone.

I'm sure that I'm not alone in that I have a hard time keeping the phone steady to take a photo. Even using a tripod, when I touch the shutter button sometimes moves the phone.
With my DSLR, I will often use a remote shutter release that plugs into the same size plug as the phone has. Is there an app that will read the signal from the shutter release an activate the phones shutter?

Thanks for the response. My timer is 3,5 and 10 sec but I'd still like to find how to use a cable release with it.
