SlideIT Keyboard help

I have always wanted to try swype, but it was out of beta before I got it. I just found SlideIT for free (my guess is that I will get addicted to it the trial/demo/beta will then end).
Anyway, so far I love it. Except I am having problems with short words
Things like And, I, a, so

I am lifting my finger but it is not creating the space. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Is there a "trick" to get it to work right?

I think you have to start typing the next word.
I thought the price was too much and emailing the developer comes back as invalid domain so I am trying ultra keyboard.
give that one a shot.

Ultra keyboard is just a 24 hour trial.
Not sure how long the SlideIT trial is for (someone said a week).
Any idea when Swype will be available for sale?
