YouTube App STOPS when screen goes BLACK!!! Can I lock-out screen to avoid accidental button/screen?

How can I listen to a youtube when it stops if the screen goes black, and if I disable the screen timeout, any inadvertent button or screen press as it's bouncing around in my pocket messes it up?
