Since updating to the new gmail app that allows for POP email, I have a little issue. I now use the app for all of my POP accounts and disabled the stock email app. I like to manually update the accounts and have all of them set to "never" check for new email. The issue I am having is, it does in fact check for new email on it's own. When I open the app and go in to any of the accounts, they are all updated. I like being able to pull down to refresh and not have the app check for new mail.

Also, as i'm scrolling through my email and swiping them to delete, sometimes they pop back up after I delete them, and I have to re-swipe to delete them.

Anyone else experiencing any of these issues? it seems like the new app has a few bugs, well, for me at least.

I think simply opening the app is tantamount to a request for manual update.

Not certain, though...

That could be correct, that would be different than the stock email app functioned previously though. It would take a pull down to refresh the email on the stock app.

I just wanted to say that I read your post, but cannot say anything constructive since I basically go with the flow wrt email apps. However,, I am rather annoyed that Google took one my email accounts and partnered it with Gmail as you describe. Can YOU tell ME how to turn that off, so to speak?

yes, just slide out the left menu and click on manage accounts. click on the account you want removed and then just hit the settings button in the top right corner to reveal "remove account".
