I am using meebo..love it..but i tested it for fun on my own number to se how it works..comes in as a text...

am I being charged texts??!! please say no!! Cause I thought it was a instant message, not a 'text ' message as part of a pkg...

Do you have texts included as part of your phone's service plan?

If you send an IM to a phone number it'll go to that phone as a text message but will still be considered an IM to u. Its only an instant message for both users when both are using instant message programs. Since AIM supports IM-text it'll convert the IM into a text using their server. And if the person uses their phone to respond you'll receive it as a IM.

yea, to use it as IM (data) only, both users need to be using an IM client that is supported by meebo (AIM, msn, etc)

then send the message to their username and it'll be an IM
