Has anyone else received an email from Amazon customer service regarding the Amazon MP3 app?

[Edited] I just upgraded to a new version on the Play Store. The email made it sound like the new version was only available at Amazon's website, but it's on Play Store too. Sorry for the confusion.[/Edited]

Here is the email that I received, with the links removed.
"Important Changes to Your Amazon Music App

We saw that you have a previous version of the Amazon Music app (formerly called "Amazon MP3") installed on your Android device. We recommend upgrading to the latest version of Amazon Music at:
    <Link Removed>

If you continue to use your previous version of the app, there are two important changes to music purchasing and the sign-in process we want to make sure you know about:

    Music Purchasing

As of January 1, 2015, music purchasing will no longer be available with your currently installed version of the Amazon Music app. We're sorry for any inconvenience.

You can buy music with the latest version of the Amazon Music app, or from the Digital Music Store on the Amazon website (<Link Removed>), Fire Tablets, and the Amazon Music apps for PC and Mac.

You'll still be able to listen to songs and albums you previously purchased with your currently installed version of the Amazon Music app. Your previous purchases are also available on the Amazon website (<Link Removed>), or any other compatible Amazon Music device. You may first need to sign in to your music library on the Amazon website and accept the updated Amazon Music Terms of Use to access your music.

    Added Sign-in Security

As of January 15, 2015, if you sign out from your currently installed version of the Amazon Music app and then attempt to sign back in, you'll see an "invalid information" error message onscreen. This is because you'll now need to enter a one-time-use security password to complete sign-in. We'll automatically send you this security password by e-mail whenever you sign out from the app.

    To complete sign-in:

    1. Check your e-mail. You'll see a message from Amazon with subject line "One-time Password for Amazon account.”
    2. Open the message and copy the one-time numerical password.
    3. Re-launch the Amazon Music app to return to the "Sign In" screen.
    4. Enter the one-time numerical password into the "Password" box, and then tap "Sign In" again.

Keep in mind that this one-time-use password is not associated with your saved Amazon account password. The password only needs to be entered once, as an added security step for the Amazon Music app.

If you need any help, Amazon Music specialists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at:

We hope to see you again soon.
