Whatsapp for android insists on copying pictures to your photos app if you want to view them. This is is a pain in the arse as I don't want to save the vast majority of photos my mates share with me along with pictures of my kids that I do want to store.

So my two questions are :

    1) Can you keep pictures in whatsapp itself (Rather than blurry thumbnails)?

    2) If not, is it possible to save them somewhere else separately from your main photos? or in a separate photo folder etc?

No I don't want to store my private stuff in WhatsApp that's the point I'm making. I want to store the clunge my mates send in WhatsApp so it doesn't get mixed up with my private photos which don't go anywhere near WhatsApp.

Yeh that's what I thought. I'm sure there's. Good reason why it's different to ios. I certainly won't be giving my nexus back because of that little quirk.
