Better Keyboard Word Suggestions?

Hi,

I'm using Froyo on my device and it seems that when I install a new keyboard (anything other than stock), all my word suggestions go away.

So basically, I can't use any T9 functions of keyboards or well... get my suggestions.

Is this a common problem? Is there someone wrong with my language pack or something?

EDIT:

To clarify further:

In the stock android keyboard, I can type "hi" and words like "him" and "high" are suggested.

In BKB, nothing is suggested unless I begin to type a word in my User Dictionary.

My thought is that's how they are implemented. The stock keyboard were made with those features, can't say the same about any third party apps/themes.
